Stolen KE in NZ - John Bonds KE70

A good friend and follower of the Brotherhood down in NZ, John Bond just sent me an e-mail saying that his awesome CA'd KE70 has been stolen. We had been planning on doing a nice in depth feature on the car, but this definitely wasn't the kind of feature either of us had in mind.

The car was stolen from him yesterday, and it is quite a recognisable car so hopefully if your a reader in NZ right now and you see any of it for sale you will know whats up!

It's a 1982 KE70 sedan with a Nissan CA18det engine swap. 3inch dump pipe, 600x300 inter cooler, superpro steering rack mounts, oil catch tank, ae70 pedal box and r33 gearbox .An AE86 2way disc brake rear end with a trd 2way lsd, trd blue shocks with bc adjustable perches and 6kg springs, ae86 struts and brakes with jic adjusters, camber plates, offset rca's, project mu pads and 10kg springs. calipso blue paint job with tama flared guards and a set of 14x7 volk mesh rims with 185/60/14 bridgestone g3'sf ront, 175/60/14 bridgestone supercats rear. Inside the car you'll see a freshly done black interior with kw fixed back bucket seats, autogauge smoked 60mm tacho and boost and an autogauge smoked water temp, oil pressure gauge.

As you can see it's got an very recognisable spec with some rare parts on there so if you see anything off it for sale be sure to get in touch as soon as possible.

John sent me this a while back to talk through the car, and I think it shows just how much effort has gone into it, so for it just to be stolen is horrid news.
"I got the car six years ago stock and in pieces and in need of attention. firstly got it roadworthy and did the usual lowering springs and finished painting guards. After stuffing around with the 4k and trying twin carbs sorted out a 4age shopping list and started collecting.

Firstly started with a k50 gearbox, after a while i got a t50 gearbox and ae86 diff imported from japan. Sweet skids on. Went to a number of local drift days and learnt heaps adding parts as i progressed like 3.7 lightened flywheel and the adjusters. After a while i felt the need for more power so started searching on forums around the world for a different power plant. So decided to go with the underdog ca18det. it had the perfect amount of power stock for my light car. fitted to car by chopping stock mounts from xmember and making up new ones to match stock engine mounts. put the ca front casing on the r33 skyline gearbox resulting in shifter being 75mm further forward then the ca box and the shifter fit through the original hole ( no need for chopping) chopped up a ae86 2piece drive shaft to suit and was able to keep drive shaft loop for cert/mot. got 2.5inch exhaust welded up, voila. plans for the car are, roll cage, more suspension mods and turbo+ re tune= lots of fun"

I really do hope John gets the car back, and in it's full glory very soon. Don't forget to drop me an e-mail if you see anything for sale from this car on corollabrotherhood@yahoo.com

Thanks for reading,
James
